upside…down

There is an upside to your fertile fashion conscious best friend who wears the same size clothes as you getting pregnant! You get to borrow her fabulous clothes! I will be borrowing some Seven jeans, some Lucky jeans, and a few other items that already DO NOT FIT her. And there is something a little evil (Dramalish wrote about this recently! There are better reasons to visit her blog right now though) about your skinny best friend having to buy new clothes at 8 weeks.

The down…of course there is a down. I have a giant bag of my “fat clothes” stored in my closet. I lost quite a bit of weight, and saved the clothes I liked best for when I got pregnant. I figured some of the pants would last me until I needed “real” maternity clothes. Guess who is getting my clothes today? It’s not that I care about the clothes, of course. It’s that I didn’t expect to dig through that bag until I needed them.

Oh – and I’m pretty sure I ovulated yesterday. And don’t worry girls, dh has had some fun the past few days.

  1. Congratulations on the ovulation! I hope this works out for you.

I think it’s really cool that you and your friend can share clothes, though it must have been hard to go through that bag. When I was pregnant I was due in November. My mom was going to come during that time, but she lives in the tropics and doesn’t have fall clothes. I had put my pretty sweaters, cardigan twinsets, and turtlenecks in the dresser that we have in the guest room so that she’d have some warm clothes to wear, and then I forgot all about them. When I was cleaning up that room for her visit now in the summer I was surprised to find all my winter clothes in the dresser. I hated being reminded that I was once pregnant and wasn’t expecting to wear those clothes this winter. It didn’t make me break down or anything, but it wasn’t nice so I totally sympathize with having to go through the “fat bag” for a pregnancy other than your own.

Have fun wearing your pretty jeans, though! Pretty jeans are always a happy thing.

  2. Good for you for focusing on the positive. I miss being able to share clothes with my friends.

  3. Going through that bag for someone else must’ve been hard for you. You’re getting new clothes out of the deal, but still.

Glad you ovulated and were able to have fun.
