shine me

Seven years. On Monday, dh and I will have been married for seven years. It sounds like a long time when I say it aloud, but the actual minutes, days, and years seem to have flown by. We look older than we used to, we have more stuff than we used to. I’m a little sad about where we are right now emotionally – seven years ago we were so bright and hopeful and shiny. I think we’ve been a little sanded down now. We need a good polishing.

We had our reception at the Dallas World Aquarium. It was small at the time: one floor had aquariums and one was meant for events like weddings. We rented the entire thing for a fraction of what the place costs now. The aquarium has undergone many renovations, and has 3-4 times the number of exhibits now. We haven’t been back since the day of our reception.

We decided for our anniversary we will go. We will drive to Dallas tonight. We are going to stay in a hotel and go to the aquarium tomorrow. We’ll eat lunch there, dinner somewhere “fahhnncy”.

I’m looking forward to our mini-vacation. Oh…thought I’d find a picture, then I realized those were the days before everything was digital. Oh well.
