random thoughts

1) A clarification on my previous post – I do want to make sure that you understand that I know my mother loves me very much. And I hope I didn’t come across as jealous of my sister’s relationship with her. It has simply always been different, and I anticipate that it always will be. I really do think it has something to do with my utter independence versus my sister’s dependence. It is probably easier to be closer to the person that needs you and expresses that need than to the person who doesn’t.

2) I had my pre-op appointment on Wednesday. Everything seems set for Monday’s surgery, except that I got a message on my answering machine from the surgery center today, after I’d already completed all of the pre-registration phone calls and “stuff”.

3) I received a phone call from J’s benefits administrator today regarding the letter I sent about our change in coverage for 2006 and the difficulty I had obtaining that information. I also included statistics and information about infertility. I’m not really sure why they called, but the short story is that we will have no coverage for infertility services next year. And they won’t even consider a change in their policy/coverage until at least 2008. But they’ll kindly keep my letter on file to consider the next time they sign a healthcare contract. God help me if I need their coverage (for infertility) in 2008 or 2009!

4) I am feeling rather anxious lately. I decided to play hooky from work today because my heart and mind wouldn’t have been there anyway. I got all of my bloodwork done, my prescriptions filled, and saw Pride and Prejudice. I actually quite liked it.

5) It seems that winter is finally here. I am actually wearing a sweater.

6) Thank you for all of your kind words and comments. I will try to be a better reader and commenter myself next week.

  1. Good luck with your surgery Monday.

  2. I hope all goes well with your surgery on Monday. Your last post didn’t seem jealous at all… it seemed more matter-of-fact. I’m glad you took a day to get your things done, and you got some entertainment in as well.
