oh, to have young ovaries…

Said my doctor. I said, “I don’t think you want them.” He replied, “No, I don’t, but many women in this clinic do.”

So I have one thing going for me…my ovaries. They can be relied upon to outdo themselves. Now if we could just get all the other parts to work.

By the way, I no longer have the persistent milky breast discharge. How exciting!

So, my doses of the Gonal-f have been as follows: 75iu, 75iu, 37.5iu.

Today is CD4. My E2 was 244, my lining was 5.8B. Right ovary: 10.5, 10, 7. Left ovary: 13.5, 12.5, 9. He’s hoping that the two larger follicles on the left ovary continue to grow rapidly, leaving the others in their dust.

My doses for the next two nights: 75iu, 37.5iu. Then another bloodletting and date with the wand.

About that bloodletting thing…I usually have NO problems. Today was a different story. The evil blood-taker was in a rush. She didn’t apply pressure to the vein, and then slapped a cotton ball just north of the actual spot. I get up, get to the door of the clinic, and think…my arm is wet. Blood was trickling down my arm and had soaked through my shirt. And I have a bruise now. If she ever comes out to get me again, I’ll be asking for someone else.

  1. That sounds like a great response! Good luck!

  2. What a bitch to let you bleed all over yourself! I hate when people aren’t careful with their job, especially when it involves blood.

Your response is lovely… I have my fingers crossed for twins 🙂

  3. Yea for young ovaries:)

Sounds like your doing great on the shots. Isn’t it cool how fast the IUI’s come after af. It’s like af is over and then bam-time to ovulate.

I had a similar experience at my blood test two days ago. There is a nurse that reminds me of a really peppy cheerleader. She always has this huge grin on her face and is exclaiming “How exciting” to everything. Well she was doing my blood draw and I swear it was her first time. She couldn’t find the vein and was just prodding around. I ended up bleeding under my skin and now have a huge bruise as well.

Next time I am just going to do it myself. It’s not like my veins are hard to find.
