whine, whine

sniff, sniff

limp, limp

obsess, obsess

If I didn’t already believe my body was broken, boy do I believe it now. I’ve managed to catch a cold. That’s really no big surprise this time of year; I do work with 3 to 5 year olds. I’ve tried to be extra careful to avoid all the nose secretions, but apparently someone “got” me.

That foot injury? Yeah. Not so good. It was feeling a little better last week, so I decided to try to run on Sunday. I started out ok. I ended terribly. It’s bruised all over the outside edge and up to the ankle. It doesn’t look like I’ll be running at all before this cycle begins.

I need the running. I feel like I could jump out of my skin right now. The runs are when I can think or not think, when I can get those endorphins flowing, when I can cry, when I can process previous events. So now I feel stuck in the house, with nothing to do but obsess. I have a couple of books I’m working on, but it’s not the same for me.

So I count the days. Today is day 5 of bcps. Day 9 of my cycle. And I wait.

  1. I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck with your cycle.

  2. It totally sucks that you’re hampered from running. Is there some other solitary-like exercise that wouldn’t be so hard on your foot? A stationery bike or something? The wait will end soon – and then time will fly.

  3. Sorry your one thing for release has to be shelved.

Waiting is hell. I hope the days roll by quickly for you.

  4. Get well soon! I caught a cold this weekend too.
