not *so* cuckoo

Transfer is complete. It was very difficult – full bladder sono-guided and all. He ended up having to use the firmer Tomcat catheter instead of the preferred Wallace. I was in the stirrups with speculum in place for over 30 minutes.

The really important part is that we transferred two “average” blasts (of course, overachiever me was incredulous as to why they were only average). There are three more they are watching, but they didn’t sound that optimistic about our chances for freezing any of them.

I will be away for several days at a friend’s lake house, doing absolutely nothing but drinking Gatorade.

*How* I hope and dream that they “stick”. If it was possible to will this to work, I *will*.

  1. Yay! Two blasts! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you….

  2. Sorry the transfer was so difficult, I know how agonizing that is. I was actually sent home once without transferring because after a long time (probably 40 minutes or so but felt wayyyy longer) then could not get into the uterus.

However, yay for two blasts! And they may call them average but look at that one hatching and all! Good luck Mrs. Hope, you deserve it.

  3. Screw average! I say they are BEAUTIFUL. Just gorgeous.

That funny feeling… I still got it, I’m tellin’ ya.

    -D.

  4. Congrats, you made it! I was astounded to find out how difficult a transfer could be as I had never made it that far before this last cycle. My legs were tied in to the stirrups and I could not stop shaking and it seemed to take an endless time.

Your embryos look like little doers and I will be thinking good thoughts for you and them.

  5. You are in my thoughts and prayers!

  6. Hope you don’t mind my popping in but I just wanted to wish you good luck!!

  7. WAHOO!!! Great job there! It sounds like you were at least prepared for the transfer and it sounds like you did great.

Those are some spectacular looking blasts – I hope they decide to stick around 🙂

  8. Your blasts are spectacular. I hope your time at the lake house brings you some rest.

  9. Call ’em average all you want, but I think they’re beautiful.

  10. Now those are 2 beautiful little blasts!! Good luck girl 🙂

  11. Wow. Amazing beginning of life. I was on vacation the whole week after I unknowingly finally conceived. It really does wonders for stress to be away from the four walls, doing something completely different, not counting the days. I’m praying away.

  12. so sorry it was difficult and not “easy” but two sounds great! i so wish this for you as well and you will be in my wish list for the next few weeks! {{HUGS}} my friend!

  13. Hoping for the best for you!

  14. Best of luck. I hope you find some good distracting things to do in the 2WW.

  15. Hi Larissa. I stumbled here googling “follicles over 11mm”…

  16. Fingers crossed and everything else!!!

  17. Hoping for you that this is it. Sorry the transfer was difficult.
