an actual cycle update

Thought you might want one of those. I had my second monitoring appointment, and the stims are certainly the part I do well. Maybe a tad too well.

My estradiol is already pretty high – 1696 after just 6 days of stims at low doses (I don’t like putting the numbers, but I promise it’s low – I probably won’t use more than 900 iu of Gonal-f for the whole cycle). We’re dropping them more tonight, and I have to go tomorrow for another estradiol level, no scan before they’ll set my dose for tomorrow night.

I’ve got 15 or 16 follicles cooking in there ranging from 12-16mm. Wednesday would be awfully early for trigger, but if the E2 doesn’t slow a little, it’s certainly a possibility. I still think Thursday is slightly more likely.

In other news, I have a job offer – which is a good thing. I should hear from another place this week as well. I’d like to say I’m thrilled, but the truth is there’s one thing I’d be thrilled about right now, and everything else isn’t as important.

Other than that, it’s a pretty good Monday.

  1. The job offer sounds good…but I know your mind is (understandably) on other things.

Your follicles sound like they’re cooking well. I hope things go well and you make it all the way to a smooth, uneventful transfer! That would be so great.

  2. Hi! I joined blogger.com not too long ago and I was looking at different blogs and ran across yours. I just wanted to say hi and that I’m also trying to conceive… Good Luck!!!

  4. Fantastic news about the job! Like you, I’m a very quick stimmer. I still have heaps of leftover follistim from my IUI/IVF cycles.

I hope that you get a few more days of cooking to get the best follies possible!!

  5. I’m glad to hear that things are proceeding beautifully this cycle. I will be thinking about you this week in hopes that follies and transfer are both great!

  6. Good news on the job, and lots and lots of luck for Thursday. I’ll be checking in 🙂

  7. That’s certainly a big E2 jump, let’s hope they are just cooking away nicely in there.

  8. Good luck to you, and congrats on the job offers! I understand how hard it is to even think about dealing with something like that right now. I hope the next few days go smoothly for you.

  9. Ooo job offer! Sounds great–hope all goes well with that! Good follies cooking too–hope that the numbers remain positive!

  10. Didn’t Genesis have a song about that? ‘She’s an easy stimmer’! Or was that lover?

I hope you end up with a nice set of eggs, and all that too.

Though a job offer is not the top item on your wish list, it is the better kind of distraction.
