wowie! (edited)

I am over the moon.

Of our 22 eggs, 20 were able to be ICSI’d, and (drumroll please)………

19

fertilized. That’s absolutely, stunningly, and wonderfully amazing. We’ve never had a fert report like that – the nurse was surprised as well.

I know we’ll lose some, I know this doesn’t mean it will work, but thank goodness it’s gone so well.

Edited to add:
So transfer is set for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 7:30. Originally they had said mid-day, but something changed today – not totally clear what, so 7:30 it is. I’m going to sound ungrateful here – but I was hoping for mid-day for several different reasons. One, it would give the embryologists a chance to check out my embryos before the whole kit and kaboodle arrived – so there could at least be the discussion of a Day 5 transfer. It also would have made the scheduling for acupuncture so much easier. What’s done is done, and it will be fine.

I’m so thankful we’ve started with so many fertilized – I really couldn’t have dreamed of a better beginning.

  1. VERY COOL! Can you say “momentum”? I’m going to hold my breath so as not to disturb one iota of the great chain of events thus far…

  3. What a relief… so far so good.

Jeremy compared pregnancy to an aquarium. He said that when an inexperienced aquariest starts a new fish tank the levels are all wrong. Invariably, the first few attempts to establish the aquarium are failures. After a couple of trials and errors, the fish tank “balances itself out” and the fish can thrive.

Here is to hoping that you’ve been balanced out and the rest of your cycle goes as well as the start. You’re ready. You’ve been ready.

    xoxo
