I should clarify that my doctor is not concerned about the fetal growth or the heart rate. He was specifically “a little worried” about the small gestational sac size. He said ten years ago he would have told me that this looked quite bad, but that he’s seen too many pregnancies turn out well with small sac sizes.

I believe the mean size yesterday was around 12 mm – which is something like 1 week behind. And there is some “magical” formula that Dr. Google informed me of that says the mean gestational sac diameter (GSD) should be a minimum of 5 mm larger than the crown rump length (CRL), or prognosis isn’t good (I’m not writing the number here…just know it’s bad). The CRL yesterday was 7.7 mm.

Though I still don’t know what to feel about this, I’m taking solace in the fact that it seems that gestational sac diameters are somewhat unreliably measured. And perhaps if the CRL is 3 days behind, and the GSD is 7 days behind – maybe it will still turn out ok.

I’m still having spotting off and on – I’d like to say it’s lighter, but as soon as I do, something bad will surely happen. My breasts don’t seem as sore – except in the morning. I am occasionally nauseated – but there doesn’t seem to be a specific time or trigger. I am still tired. I’m also still thrilled to have any symptoms, and I’ll take all that come my way.

And, I think I must have lost my mind to begin a new job this week. I’m distracted already – not a good way to start.
