no rest for the weary

Well, I did have another scan yesterday with my friend. All looked well – heart rate still good, still no obvious sign of a hemorrhage in the uterus or near the placenta. I was spotting brown at the time of the scan, so I thought maybe it would be an isolated incident.

About 2 hours after the scan – more bleeding. And more about an hour after that. It was lighter than yesterday, but still red, red, red. It tapered off to spotting late yesterday afternoon and evening. Still spotting now.

I’m so thankful the baby still looked ok yesterday. I still am supposed to get an “official” scan tomorrow – I think I’m calling in sick tomorrow.

Honestly, this is exhausting. I knew I’d be a worrywart about any pregnancy – but to have concrete things to worry about – I didn’t expect that. I certainly didn’t expect that it would feel like once one thing was maybe starting to resolve, another would pop up in place of it.

Please, please, please just let this stop and let this be ok. Please.

  2. Sending you big, virtual hugs.

  3. I can only imagine how you must feel right now. You’ll make it through because you have to, but I wish things would be easier for you.oq

  6. Mrs. Hope, just want you to know you’re in my thoughts. I wish this could be easier for you. After all you have been through, you so deserve an easy and worry-free pregnancy.

Meanwhile, it is awesome that you have this friend to help give you some peace of mind. I hope that you can find some distraction on your day off — if it were me, I’d be a wreck. Rest up and keep us posted.

  7. I had another thought … it is possible that the u/s wand irritated your cervix and caused a little more bleeding after the scan?

Hope that all is OK now.

  8. My first thought was that the u/s irritated your cervix as well, but your friend did a cervical check so I suppose she would have been able to tell.

Thank goodness the baby seems healthy.

  9. Oh sweetie. I am so sorry you are having such a rough go of it. It just isn’t fair.

But so far, there is cause for concern, but the baby is doing fine so far, so it may be nothing.

I know that doesn’t help, but I’m thinking of you today.

  10. Oh Larissa, I’m so so sorry this has been so difficult for you. I hope everything looks better today.

  11. good call to call in sick. you need to rest…if only for your mental health. i’m so sorry this can’t just be one of those uneventful pregnancies. i’m glad to hear that the baby is doing okay, and hope that the spotting stops soon.
