vote early and often

No, not for president!

For Angie, our German Short-Haired Pointer. Our local newspaper is doing a year long dog “show”. You submit photos of your dog in the appropriate breed category (there’s one for mutts, too) and there’s a 2 week or so period where readers can vote online.

Well, this week is Angie’s turn, and the newspaper is using the photo I submitted (look about halfway down their page) of her on their home page. Unfortunately, people can continue to submit photos. She’s currently photo #101 (scratch that – #104) , but that can change – the picture I submitted is the same as the one at the top of this post. If you’d like to take the time to vote, click here, then use the “Back” buttons built in to the window that opens to back track to her picture. You can click really fast – you don’t have to wait for every picture to load. Complicated, I know.

But she really is the best Pointer, you know. And she’s been getting the short end of the stick in the attention department lately. She was a rescue – an owner surrender. She was in foster care for awhile, was actually adopted, and then returned again before we adopted her 3.5 years ago. Her first owners de-barked her – they had her vocal cords cut. She makes the most awful high-pitched chirp/bark noise – no one is ever sure it’s a dog or they think she’s sick.

And of course, BabyHope thinks she’s the best.

  1. Oh my goodness – Angie could be my Tallulah’s long lost cousin! How old is she? Is she crazy hyper still? My heart hurts at the thought of a sweet as pie GSP being debarked, poor puppy!

Tallulah is 2 1/2 and is a crazy beast 🙂 She LOVES Audrey and Audrey loves her, despite her world being turned upside down.

  2. We think she’s about 8 now. She’s a little hyper, but she’s slowed down a lot in the past year. She’s a great running partner

  3. You run long distances AND take amazing pictures???? Come on! You are making the rest of us look very, very bad. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    *I voted!

  4. Mrs. Hope–What kind of camera do you have? I think I asked this before and I forgot what you told me…
The dog is adorable and the pics are amazing. We have two rescue dogs and they are the best!

  5. Don’t you just love rescue dogs?
And she’s still #101. And some people are entering a million photos of their dog which is annoying.

  6. Angie just got my vote! 🙂

  7. She’s precious. Certainly gets my vote! Isn’t amazing how quickly babies bond with dogs. Cooper LOVES our dog and every other dog for that matter. He doesn’t know life without them! I love it;)

  8. Done…..she is a pretty dog. I love the pictures with BabyHope…how could anyone give that sweet doggy up? Glad she found you.

  9. Congratulations on having your picture featured on the home page! I voted for her. Is there a prize if you win, or just bragging rights? 🙂

  10. Angie waited for you and you waited for BabyHope. All things come together and a family is made.

Of course she gets my vote!! What does the 74% tally mean???

  11. nothing sweeter than babies and dogs, especially babies and dogs that love each other. Thanks for the pics. Reminds me of Emery’s love affair with the ever tolerant Rufus. 🙂

  12. I’m voting as soon as I’m done here.

Poor Angie… a hound with no voice? I’m glad you found each other.

  13. how funny. i saw angie’s photo on the statesman’s site last week and commented that she looked like such a sweet dog. she got my vote.
