back to basics

What does this blog do best?? Infertility!!

You’d think I’d know better by now than to think all would or could go smoothly.

I had my HSG on Wednesday afternoon. I should have known then, when the tech didn’t say it was normal, and when I had that odd pain on my right side. I’m pretty sure I saw dye spill on both sides, though.

I told myself that if I heard today before noon about the test, it was abnormal. After noon, all would be well. The phone rang at 11 AM.

There’s a filling defect on the right side of my uterus. What exactly that means, I don’t know. I did know better than to press the nurse for information she doesn’t have.

It does mean a hysteroscopy. It does mean a delay. The surgery scheduler is supposed to call me.

I’ll find out more details at my appointment next week about what “filling defect” means (unless of course that gets changed due to the HSG results).

Ahhh, infertility.

  1. Not that I know what it is at all, but I was hoping for smooth sailing for you this go round.

  2. I’m behind, so I missed the last post. The shout out flattered me.

So here we are again. I’ll be staying tuned and cheering for you.

  3. Crap. I was really hoping it would be easier for you this time.

    I hope it’s not a big deal

  4. Oh drat. A hysteroscopy…I hate those. I hope it doesn’t mean much, just a little tweaking to make things perfect for those beautiful frozen embryos. Hang in there.

  5. darn! Hoping it’s nothing more than a little delay. Sorry you’ll have to to the hysteroscopy. I’m hopeful this will be your only remarkable IF thing this go round.

  6. Infertility. The gift that keeps on giving.

    Hang in there.

  7. Seriously? 😦 This stinks.
I hope that they are easily able to correct it during the hysteroscopy. I’m so sorry you have to do more of that stuff 😦 Keep me posted, fingers and toes are crossed.
