the blast

There’s this:

And then there’s this:

Oh, how I want to see that little blastocyst grow. I want it as much as I wanted everyone of the 11 previous embryos we’ve transferred. I want to get to that first ultrasound and see a heartbeat, I want to see the “gummy bear” ultrasound, I want to know the gender, I want to feel him or her move, I want my belly to grow, I want to meet him or her. I want BabyHope to meet him or her. And vice versa. In short, please stay, tiny, slow to recover blastocyst. We’re already in love with you.

I don’t have much time to fret about this. I don’t have any pee sticks in the house, and I can’t follow my clinic’s “house arrest” guidelines this go-round. I just have to hope my uterus is cushy, my blastocyst recovers from the difficulty of being frozen and thawed, and that we get lucky. So, so lucky again.

Please.
