Well, the line this morning is significantly lighter. I’m wondering if I spoke too soon and this is a chemical pregnancy?

I’ll just have to wait until tomorrow.

  1. Hello,

I’ve been reading your blog for a while – while I was going through IUIs and IFV – before I had my twins, but this is the first time I am commenting. I truly hope that the test will come back positive and that you will get to experience an easy and worry free (as much as a pregnancy can be worry free) pregnancy!

  2. ughhh – try to hang in there – might be a faulty test – maybe the dye strip is just messed up – really wish it were tomorrow instead of today!

  3. This is the excruciating unknown that comes with us being able to test so early now. I really hope this works for you and you get your positive tomorrow….

    Hang in there.

  4. Hopefully the lighter test means nothing. You said this has been too easy, but it is high time something goes easily for you. My hope is that is means nothing. Can’t wait to hear tomorrow. Hoping for excellent numbers. Sometimes hpts can be more trouble than they are worth.

  5. WHOA–somehow I missed yesterday’s post! stupid blogger. ANYWAY, I’ve always heard a line is a line is a line, so I think this is all still good. I mean, it could be a simple issue of different dye or something.
Can you move the beta to today?
    Everything’s crossed!

  6. I’m no expert, but it seems to me that even if it were a chemical pregnancy, your HCG level wouldn’t drop that quickly. Could be that it’s just a difference in the two test strips, or it could be that your urine was more or less diluted when you took the two tests. Hang in there – one more day!

  7. Ok, first of all, I truly understand the feeling that this was too easy. I have felt that way this whole pregnancy so far. And second, not that I want to give you false hope but my lines got consistently lighter in the first two weeks of my pregnancy and yet my betas always doubled wonderfully. I think a line is a line is a line, no matter how dark or light.

I truly hope this works out for you.

  8. Yep, what Krista said. A hpt is only good for a yes/no test – line is a line. Betas are better indicators.

That’s the story *I* am sticking with, at any rate. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  9. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you! I’m hoping you have a good number on your beta test tommorrow.

  10. I’m hoping so hard for you! Best of luck tomorrow.

  11. Praying for good news!

  12. Remember the little engine that could and just change it a tiny bit… I think I am, I think I am, I think I am, I think I am…

  13. I hope the lighter line is just a fluke. I’ve heard told that the darkness of the line is not significant. Fingers crossed that it’s true.
