cinnamon squares

This is the second time I’ve made this cake. The first time, I omitted the espresso powder as the people that would be consuming it hate coffee. This time I left it in, but I couldn’t even taste it. For me, this cake is “enh”. It’s okay. It’s easy. But maybe I’m just not a huge fan of chocolate and cinnamon together. I think it would be great with a crumbly, streusely swirl. And maybe some blueberrries or something. I probably won’t make this again.

I did alter the frosting slightly – reduced the butter by a tablespoon, and added a little heavy cream – the first time I did the frosting it came out like a brick, but this time it stayed nice and creamy.
