a spider sat down beside her

Mr. Hope emailed me this picture he took of a huge spider – 4 inches long – in our front yard.  When I replied asking him what he did with it, his response was, “Nothing.  I’m not going near it.  Don’t you know I’m a girl when it comes to that stuff?”

I’m hoping the spider finds a new front yard by the time I get home.

  1. I have a picture that looks exactly like that! Last summer we had a spider just like that on our window. I mean even the web looked like that. The squiggly line and all. I was sad to get rid of it, even though I hated it, it was just the neatest looking web and spider. Maybe he lived and traveled down your way:) Hope you are having a lovely time with your sis!

  2. Holy crap. I am sitting here all itchy. I HATE spiders! Yuck!

  3. We’ll take it!

  4. Eeeeeeeekkkkkk– I HATE spiders! I know they serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things, but I’d be totally happy to have them all wiped off the face of the Earth! Hope it finds a new home soon!!

  5. Bloody hell! Is that thing real?

I wouldn’t come home at all if it were me 🙂

  8. The best spider is a dead spider! Get some of that Raid that shoots like 12 feet, hide behind something, and let ‘er rip. That thing looks like something out of a horror movie!

  9. Holy crap. I so wouldn’t be going home until I knew for sure that that thing would not be waiting for me. I’m a total wuss when it comes to spiders.

  11. wow, that is one ginormous spider. ick.

  12. I’m not sure if it’s the size or the coloring on the spider…probably both, but it is SCARY!

  13. That’s a golden garden spider. They are not poisonous. Don’t kill it!
