What’s there to say?  I could live here.  I love the bustle without the height of New York.  Our rental looks out on the Thames and we can see Parliament, Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the Vauxhall and Lambeth Bridges.  And some awful looking phallic building that doesn’t seem to fit.

Mr. Hope’s foot is still broken, and he’s walked entirely too much on it.  Enough that he’s cracked his cast in two places.  We’ll be paying out of pocket for it to be re-casted when we get home.  My ear isn’t infected anymore, but it’s so full of fluid.  I can’t hear, I have a little vertigo from time to time, and sometimes I can understand why Van Gogh cut his off.  I’m just hoping it doesn’t get re-infected before I get home.

BabyHope has done as well as we possibly could have asked.  We’ve tried to work in breaks in places she can run around.  She’s a big fan of British sweets, as well.  And the iPhone.  Without Elmo on the iPhone, we wouldn’t have been able to do half of what we’ve done.  We’re going to parental hell for it, but it will all be remedied when we get home.

Next up is Paris.  I’m the only one of us that speaks even a word of French, so that should be interesting.

  1. Glad to hear everything is going pretty well and that you’re loving London! Enjoy Paris!

  2. So glad you enjoyed London! And Paris…BabyHope should do well there…lots of places to enjoy outside. And I think the French desserts are better!

  3. Still waiting to hear how the whole trip went.

I have friends and family in the UK. I am fortunate to get to go to London at least once a year. Before I met Brett, I was planning to move there. Oh, and I even met him there!

I hope your family had a memory-making, enjoyable time together.
