BAKED Sunday Mornings: Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

To be honest, I’m not much of a red velvet fan.  I like chocolate cake, and I feel like these are a chocolate tease.  That said, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, so this seemed like an appropriate treat, and I made mine in adorable little heart shapes.  Of course, Mr. Hope says they look like butts.  Romantic to the core, no?

I’m out of cream cheese at the moment, so I’m going to have to wait to take a picture of the final product.  I think there will be a few sprinkles involved, too.  Updated below!

  1. Ahhh, I’m just about to put the cream cheese filling in the red velvet cookie heart cakes I made…they look similar….and I did some strawberry cake balls dipped in chocolate too…
    Yum!
    PS Husbands are always the best for comments like the butt one, no?

  2. It looks like everybody thought to make these heart-shaped somehow! Sadly, I didn’t even think about it until I started seeing all these other pictures! They are so cute, and will be even cuter with the filling!
